Chapter 0340 2/2 Chapter 0340 Chapter 0340 Suzy removed the pearl earring from Ruby's ear and aimed it at the switch controlling the cage. With precision, she threw it, hitting the target squarely. The switch engaged, and the cage began to rise slowly.
Ruby stared at Suzy in disbelief.
"That actually worked?" Ruby asked, her voice filled with astonishment.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSuzy allowed herself a brief smile. "We can thank your dear sister for this. If she hadn't subjectedto all kinds of training since childhood, I might really be trapped here, just as she intended, waiting to meet my end." Grabbing Ruby's arm, Suzy quickly led her out of the cage and toward the door. But freedom wasn't guaranteed. The room was a fortress with solid walls of reinforced metal surrounding them, making escape nearly impossible.
Right now, survival depended on one thing: disarming the bombs scattered throughout the -space. Wires were everywhere, but only three mattered-the red, yellow, and blue ones.
The challenge lay in figuring out which one to cut. The wrong choice wouldn't save them; it would seal their doom.
Suzy turned to Ruby. "Based on what you know about Charlotte, which wire would she rig to detonate the bombs?" Ruby shook her head with a bitter laugh. "I don't know her at all. If I did, I wouldn't have spent all these years being fooled by her." Her voice trembled as tears welled up. "I still can't believe it. She was just a child, barely four or five, yet she murdered our parents." Ruby's voice cracked as she recounted the memory. Their parents had embarked on a mountain expedition, fully prepared with oxygen tanks packed in their gear. But when tragedy struck, the cause was ruled as oxygen deprivation.
At the time, Ruby, still young herself, never questioned it. Even their grandmother assumed it was a tragic accident, never suspecting that little Charlotte had tampered with the tanks.
"And our grandmother," Ruby added, her body trembling uncontrollably. "She killed her, too. How could she be so heartless?" Suzy's gaze turned icy. "Charlotte was born with darkness in her soul. I doubt there's anyone she wouldn't kill if it served her purpose." She listed them out coldly: parents, grandmother, and her own family. All of them were meant to be cherished, yet Charlotte had shown no mercy.
1/2 Chapter 0340 "Wait," Ruby suddenly interjected, her expression shifting. "There's someone she wouldn't dare harm!" Suzy's focus snapped to her. "Who?" Ruby furrowed her brow, concentrating as she tried to recall. "I'm not sure who he is. All I know is that he's a man. Once, when I visited her at her place, I accidentally saw someone. He had his back to me, so I couldn't see his face, but from the way she acted around him, it was clear she held him in high regard. "Every word she said was laced with deference, almost... like she was trying to please him."
Ruby paused, her voice tightening. "I think she realized I'd noticed. After e that day, never saw him again."

"Alright," Suzy muttered under her breath, her resolve hardening. "We're betting everything now.' She took a deep breath, her hand moving steadily toward the red wire.
"Whether we live or die," she murmured, her fingers tighteningn around the wire, we'll leave it up to fate." With one swift motion, she pulled the wire free.
