Chapter 371 Shawn caught the news about the accident and then stumbled upon sbystander videos online. When he saw Allison fighting off an attacker, his heart nearly stopped. Before he could even catch his breath, another clip showed Allison being loaded into an ambulance, and his worry hit the roof.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe grabbed his assistant's phone, dialing Allison's number over and over, but there was no answer. Anxiety clawed at him, and he ditched work, racing to the hospital without a second thought. He didn't have a clue which hospital she might be in, so he dashed around to the three closest ones, asking everyone he could until he finally spotted sfamiliar faces outside the emergency room of the last hospital.
Breathless and desperate, Shawn rushed up and clutched Joshua's arm. “Joshua, how's Allie?" he blurted out. He hadn't noticed the sticky, warm sensation until he looked down to see his hand smeared with blood, and shock coursed through him.
Joshua's eyes were icy as he yanked his arm free, saying tersely, "She's still in surgery." "What happened?" Shawn pressed on, "I read online that someone got shot. How did the attacker have a gun? Was it Chris? Is he seeking revenge?" Joshua's face hardened, and he barked, "Shut up, you're making a scene." Shawn's anger flared up. "Joshua, if you can't keep Allie safe, why do you keep dragging her into this mess? If it wasn't for you, she wouldn't be in danger over and over!" His voice rose, earning a scolding from a nurse passing by. "This is a hospital, keep your voice down!" Shawn lowered his tone but didn't back down, glaring at Joshua with frustration. "Joshua, haven't you caused enough trouble for Allie? Why are you still pulling her into this? Are you really that helpless, unable to protect the woman you love? What good are you? You said I wasn't good enough for Allie, that I didn't deserve to love her, but what about you? What right do you have?" Joshua's jaw clenched as he absorbed Shawn's accusations, his hands clenching into fists, but he stayed silent. He couldn't even protect the woman he loved. What right did he have to say he loved her? His inability to shield Allison had brought her nothing but pain, and his love felt like a burden. Joshua's heart was heavy, suffocating under the weight of guilt and frustration.
"Enough, Shawn. This isn't the time. for this," Sabrina cut in, pulling Shawn away. "You think you're any better? Allie got hurt plenty when she was with you too! Neither you nor Joshua should be pointing fingers." Shawn fell silent, hanging his head. The hallway fell quiet again. As night crept in, the tension among them only thickened.

"Joshua, you're hurt too. You should get that treated," Rose insisted, her eyes falling to the floor where droplets of blood had pooled, shocking her even more. "Joshua, your hand is seriously injured. You need to take care of it!" Rose's face turned pale with concern.
Joshua had been at the hospital for over an hour, his hand bleeding, yet he hadn't done anything about it. "It's just a scratch, I'm fine," Joshua muttered, his voice rough.
"How can you say that when you're bleeding so much?" Rose fretted hurrying down the hallway. "Nurse, nurse!" Not long after, a nurse returned with Rose.
