Chapter 1206 Withholding The Truth
"Yet you're still defending that jerk?!"
"Did you hit your head somewhere, or have you seriously lost yourprehension skills?"
"What did Damien say to brainwash you into thinking Lennon isn't a jerk?!"
Mandy's barrage of criticism hit Cherise like a storm. Her words had fanned Mandy's anger into a blazing inferno.
In recent days, Mandy had been unable to reach Cherise or arrange a meeting with her.
She had tried to reassure herself that Cherise cared about Lucy and must have valid reasons for her absence.
Perhaps she had a disagreement with Damien or was preoccupied with assisting Lucy in her own manner.
But at this moment in time, she was faced with a startling truth she could no longer deny.
Cherise, her closest friend alongside Lucy, had actually defended Lennon when Lucy found herself needing a liver transplant
because of the pain Lennon caused her!
Facing the wrath of Mandy's rage, Cherise pressed her lips together tightly.
"It's hard forto say more..."

Cherise drew in another deep breath, a strained, pained smile plastering on her face. She was uncertain of her own convictions.
"et it. Pretend | never spoke."
Mandy crinkled her nose, staring at Cherise, suddenly feeling like she didn't know her at all.
"I'm going ahead to check on Lucy," Mandy declared.
After saying so, she left Cherise standing there and strode purposefully toward Lucy's ward.
Cherise trailed after her, watching Mandy's determined stride, exhaling a deep sigh.
Within the confines of the ward, Lucy was already conscious, receiving IV fluids through a drip machine.
Having recently undergone liver transplant surgery, she had been moved to the intensive care unit, where visiting hours were
limited to just thirty minutes every day.
As Cherise entered the ward, she found Mandy and Colin, apanied by Alexis, seated by Lucy's bedside.
"Mom, is what Colin said true? You're not going to collapse again?" Alexis inquired, looking at Lucy with beady eyes.
Lucy nodded and smiled gently. "It's true, my dear. | won't be fainting again."
Lucy furrowed her brow and glanced at Colin. "Can you helplocate the liver donor? Once I'm discharged, | wish to... thank him
in person."
A flicker of unease passed through Colin's eyes. "Alright."
"Don't worry about it for now!" Mandy tucked her in gently with a blanket. "Just concentrate on recovering. We can discuss the
details later."
Lucy smiled softly. "Alright."
Lucy hesitated before speaking, "About what happened yesterday during the birthday event..."
"How is he?"
Everyone understood whom Lucy referred to as ‘he.’
"He's stable now, but he might need stto recover," Mandy replied.
Standing near the doorway, Cherise furrowed her forehead slightly before adding, "First, you need to prioritize taking care of your
health."
Lucy drew her lips tight in a contemplative manner. "l understand."
In truth, Lucy had many thoughts swirling in her mind, but she wasn't sure where to begin.
At least Lennon was alive, and that brought somefort for now.

Moreover, Alexis wouldn't have to face life without a mother in the future.
Tpassed swiftly.
Two weeks following Lucy and Lennon's hospitalization, turmoil engulfed the Gray family.
Anthony's illegitimate son, Keh, was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident. Despite being responsible, he denied his
involvement. Colin brought him to a shareholders’ meeting, resulting in Keh's subsequent imprisonment.
Following Keh's incarceration, Anthony spiraled into desperation. He frantically pulled strings, mobilized all the connections he
had, and pleaded for his son's innocence, attempting to shield him from the consequences of his actions.
But Anthony, the head of the Gray family, who used to be in everyone's good graces, realized he couldn't get anyone to help him in
Yatesville, despite his fervent pleas.
By the the realized it, Damien's influence had spread throughout Yatesville.
As Damien's influence solidified across Yatesville, Anthony found himself rebuffed at every turn. No matter whom he approached or
how earnestly he begged, the response remained the same: "If you have any intentions to rescue Keh from imprisonment, you
should seek Mr. Lenoir's favor."
Mr. Lenoir.
After yet another futile attempt, Anthony stood on Yatesville's streets, bitterness etched on his face as he muttered those two
words through clenched teeth.
