Chapter 66

“You have to take it out...” Calen suddenly said.

“What?” Monica frowned, her face twisting in disbelief. “What did you-you wantto take it out?” Why was he

talking as if there wasn’t a child inside her but ssort of garbage that she could dispose of anytime? “You

wantto take it out?” she chuckled, disbelief filling her gaze.

He glared at her in response. “Did you really think I'm gonna marry you or something?”

“Calen, this is your child, and you wantto kill it?”

“Who knows whose child that is?”

Monica opened her mouth. “You” She didn’t know what to say, Was this the sCalen she had been seeing for

the past few months? The sman who had slept with her in the sbed countless times?

Monica clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she stared at him. The disbelief in her eyes quickly

gave way to anger. “You're unbelievable,” she said, her body trembling as she stepped closer to him.

Calen crossed his arms, his jaw tight. “What's unbelievable is you thinking I'd fall for this. Do you really think I'm

that stupid, Monica? | fucking know you are trying to trap me!”

She let out a humorless laugh and shook her head. “Trap you? You think | want to spend the rest of my life

dealing with you? Don't flatter yourself, Calen. | just thought you'd have the decency to take responsibility for

your own actions.”

“My actions?” He scoffed, taking a step toward her. “This is your mess. Who knows who else you've been

sleeping with? Don’t act like you're sinnocent victim here. And don’t you fucking think that | am going to

ruin my life because of sslut!”

Monica's hands shot up to her head, gripping her hair in frustration before dropping them to her sides. She

glared at him, her chest rising and falling with quick breaths. “You're disgusting” she said, her voice barely above

a whisper. “I wasn’t expecting you to marry me, Calen. God, no. But | thought-" She stopped, shaking her head

as tears brimmed in her eyes.

“You thought what?” he interrupted, leaning closer. “That I'd roll over and let you ruin my life? That I'd believe

every word out of your mouth without question? | didn’t force you to open your legs and letfuck you, Monica.

It was you who climbed into my bed and seduced me. You wanted this. So, you fucking deal with it!”

Her hand lashed out before she could stop herself, striking his cheek. The slap echoed in the room, her palm

stinging from the impact. Calen’s head turned slightly, but his gaze snapped back to her, burning with fury.

Before either of them could process what had happened, Calen’s hand flew up, connecting with her face. The

force of the slap sent her stumbling backward. She hit the floor with a thud, her hands bracing against the cold

tiles as blood trickled from the corner of her lips.

Monica slowly pushed herself up, one hand wiping at the blood on her mouth. She glared at him, her eyes filled

with fury. “You really are a monster,” she said, her voice steady despite the tremble in her body.

“You think you can hitand walk away like nothing happened?” Calen’s chest heaved as he stood over her, his

fists still clenched at his sides. “Seems like you are even dumber than | thought.”

Monica pulled herself to her feet, her legs unsteady. She pointed a finger at him, her hand shaking. “You think

this fixes anything? You think having this child out ofwould fix anything?” She took a step closer, blood still

smudged on her lip. “Lettell you something, Calen.”

“I will tell Izzy about this child,” Monica continued. “I will tell her how you fuckedin the bed you shared with

her. | will tell her how you likedbetter. How you fucking used to scream my nas you fucking cinside

me! | will tell her how you disliked her for being cold and boring. And she? She would never... never forgive you

for what you did!”

He froze, his jaw tightening as he stared at her.

“You still think you have a chance, don’t you?” Monica's voice dripped with mockery as she let out a cold,

humorless chuckle. “No, Calen. Izzy might ask you to marryto give this child future-if she knew. But guess

what?” Her lips curled into a wicked smile, her eyes gleaming with fury. “I'll tell her everything. How you forced

like it was nothing.”

She took a step closer, her voice dropping to a deadly whisper, each word laced with venom. “You know Izzy as

well as | do, Calen. Do you really think she’d ever take you back? Do you honestly believe her conscience would

allow her to forgive you after learning the monster you truly are?”

She paused, letting the weight of her words settle in the room, her gaze piercing through him like a dagger.

“Face it, Calen. The moment | tell her, you lose her. Forever.”

You-" For a moment, Calen didn’t know what to say. His hands curled into fists as he took a step back, staring at

Monica. Slowly, her words sank in. She was right. Izzy would never forgive him if she knew. Then there was also

his mother. Cecil would never tolerate something like this. She would never tolerate something that could ruin

her good name.

Monica's lips twisted into a smirk as she watched his reaction. “There it is,” she said, taking a step closer. “The

realization. You know I'm right, don’t you? You're pathetic, Calen. A loser who's so scared of losing Izzy's money

that you're willing to kill your own child.”

His eyes narrowed, and before he could stop himself, his hand shot up to strike her again. But this time, Monica

caught his wrist mid-air. Her fingers gripped his arm tightly as she shoved him away. He stumbled slightly, but

quickly regained his balance, glaring at her.

Monica straightened, her chest rising and falling with quick breaths as she stared him down. “You're really willing

to kill our child, aren't you?” she asked, her voice steady. “You can’t even give this child a future. What kind of

man are you?”

“What do you want, Monica?” This woman isn’t stupid. He knew that she was scheming. She must be up to

something, again.

“I'm willing to leave. I'll leave the country. You'll never hear fromor the child again. | won't tell anyone, not

even lzzy.”

“How much? How much do you want to disappear?”

Monica’s smirk returned, but there was no humor in it. “Now you're thinking like yourself again, aren't you?

Always looking for the price tag. Fine. | need enough to leave and start fresh. A lump sum and I'm gone. No child,

no , no Izzy finding

out.”

“You'd better mean what you say, Monica. Because if | pay you and you don’t disappear...”

“Save the threats, Calen.” Monica held up a hand, cutting him off. “I don’t want to stay. But don’t think for a

second that this absolves you. This child is your blood, and you're throwing it away like it's nothing.”

Calen ignored her, scrolling through his phone as his mind worked through the details. Monica watched him for a

moment before turning away, and heading toward the door. “I'll book you a flight and-"

“I'll send you the details,” she said, pausing at the threshold. “You have one week, Calen. Sendthe money,

or | will let the whole world know what kind of man you are.”

She didn’t wait for a response as she walked out, slamming the door behind her.
