Chapter 506 After Eleanor returned from abroad, Isadora and Victor went to pick her up at the airport.

When Eleanor emerged from the arrivals gate, suitcase in hand, her eyes brightened at the sight of Victor waiting for her. Still, her expression gave nothing away-she maintained the dignified reserve and pride of a proper mother-in-law.

Victor stepped forward, gentlemanly as ever, taking the suitcase from her. He glanced at Isadora, then turned to Eleanor and spoke. "Mom, Isadora and I are here to bring you home." The word "Mom" took Eleanor by surprise; for a moment, her composure slipped and a faint smile tugged at her lips. She handed the suitcase over without a word.

Back at the Vaughan family estate, the house staff bustled about, preparing a lavish dinner spread across the dining table.

During the meal, Eleanor occasionally asked a few questions. Victor answered each one with calm precision-his manner aristocratic yet always respectful.

Throughout dinner, Victor's attention rarely left Isadora. First, he peeled shrimp and placed it neatly on her plate, then picked out the finest pieces of fish and set them before her. His gestures were practiced, almost instinctive- clearly, this wasn't the first the'd done so.

Eleanor noticed everything.

When Isadora looked up, she caught Eleanor's approving gaze. Isadora cleared her throat. "Mom, we're already married. We registered a while ago." Eleanor didn't look surprised. After all, their marriage documents had been mailed hmonths ago it was only a matter of time.

She turned to Victor. "So, when are you two planning the wedding?" Isadora pressed her lips together for a moment. "I'm nearly seven months pregnant now. We're thinking it's best to wait until after the baby is born and then see how things go." Eleanor's face darkened just a touch, but she said nothing.

Isadora continued, "It was my idea, really. This is our life, and whether we have a ceremony or not doesn't matter much to me. I've never liked making a fuss." Eleanor set down her fork. "Isadora, what kind of nonsense is that? You're marrying into the Fitzgerald family, and they're the most prominent family in CIf you don't have a wedding, society will never see you as the rightfe Fitzgerald." Victor reached over and took Isadora's hand from where it rested on the table: His voice was steady and unhurried. "You're right, Mom. That's why, after Isadora has the baby, I'll give her the grand wedding she deserves." Eleanor's stern expression finally softened.

"And of course, the traditional dowry and all the proper arrangements will be made. The Vaughan family will receive the full 2.88 billion."

Isadora blinked in surprise. "Didn't you already transfer sfer 20% of om Fitzgerald Group's shares to me? That's already more than enough."

Victor's eyes darkened, reflecting a glimmer like starlight on a lake. His deep, magnetic voice was calm but resolute "That's just a part of my promise. Whatever anyone else receives, you'll have as well-cand more. My wife deserves only the best." "But..." Isadora began.

Eleanor interrupted with a smile. "Victor knows how to do things properly. Con, let's eat."

After dinner, Isadora stepped out of the bathroom and found Eleanor seated in the armchair at the head of NO the living room, while Victor lounged casually on another sofa, his head slightly bowed, lost in thought. Whatever they were discussing, Isadora caught just a fragment-Victor's low, steady voice: "I promise, I will." She hurried over, slipping her hand into Victor's. "Mom, it's getting late. We should head home." Eleanor glanced at Isadora, a hint of resignation in her eyes.

Daughters, she thought, always leave hsooner than you're ready.
