Chapter 101

When they got to Class 6, they immediately noticed Justin leaning against the railing outside the classroom,

waiting

He had a notebook in one hand while his other hand rested casually in his pocket. His sharp and handsome

features were framed by a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, making him look even more refined and intelligent.

He wore a short-sleeved school uniform T-shirt with dark blue casual pants, and with the sunlight hitting him just

right, he looked like the male lead straight out of a campus romance ,

Ava was momentarily dazed by the sight of him. “Elysia, do you think life is really fair?”

“Hum?” Elysia raised an eyebrow, not sure why Ava was asking that out of nowhere.

Ava kept talking as if lost in her own thoughts. “It's bad enough that he’s a genius, but does he also have to look

this good? How are we normal people supposed to compete?

“I finally understand why everyone calls him the school hunk. | never really looked at him properly before, but

now that I do, he really is something.”

Then, as if a light bulb went off in her head, she suddenly turned to Elysia with an excited expression. “Elysia, |

just realized -you and Justin would be such a perfect match.”

“Huh?” yelled Elysia.

Ava continued, “Think about it. Justin's a genius, and so are you. He's the school hunk, and you-well, even

though you never entered the school beauty contest, you'd totally outshine Emma, the girl who actually won.

“If you two aren't a perfect match, then I'll write my nbackward!”

Hearing Ava’s over-the-top reasoning, Elysia’s face immediately darkened. “Stop it. Don’t try to play

matchmaker.”

“How is this matchmaking? I'm just stating facts,” said Ava.

They weren't far from Class 6, and Ava wasn’t exactly whispering Justin clearly overheard and raised an eyebrow

as he looked over. “A perfect match for what?”

“Uh...” Ava hesitated, suddenly at a loss for words.

How was she supposed to say this? Was she just going to cright out and tell him that she thought he and

Elysia looked great together? If Justin agreed, that'd be one thing, but if he didn’t, wouldn't that be super

awkward for Elysia?

And let's be real-if she actually said it, Elysia would probably murder her. Running away was definitely the best

move here. After a quick mental debate, she forced an awkward smile at Justin. “Oh... nothing. You must've

misheard.”

Then she turned to Elysia with a sly grin. “Elysia, | won't get in your way. You guys enjoy your conversation.”

Before either of them could say anything, she bolted into the classroom.

Justin watched her disappear inside, looking confused. “What's up with her?”

“Don’t worry about it. It’s nothing,” replied Elysia.

Hearing that, Justin chuckled slightly and handed her the notebook. “Here are today’s notes.

“Alright, wait here for me.” With that, she took the notebook and went inside. She found the rest of the

notebooks on her desk, and then cback out.

Inside the classroom, Ava watched her go and started daydreaming. If Elysia and Justin really got together,

they'd definitely be the most beautiful couple on campus.

Outside, Elysia handed the notebooks back to Justin. “These are from before. Returning them now-thanks.”

“If we're friends, don’t be so formal,” said Justin.

Elysia smiled. “Alright then, | won't say thanks anymore. I'll just treat you to a meal sometime.”

“Sounds good. I'll be looking forward to it,” said Justin.

After getting back to the classroom, Elysia saw Ava zoning out. She waved her hand in front of Ava’s face and

snapped her fingers, snapping her out of her daydream.

“Oh, Elysia, you're back. Justin already left?” asked Ava.

“Yeah. What were you thinking about? You were totally out of it,” said Elysia.

“Nothing,” Ava mumbled, her face turning a little red.

Elysia noticed and smirked. “Ohh, someone's got a crush.”

“No, | don’t!”

“Then what is it?”

“It’s...”

Ava’s words caught in her throat. No way could she say it out loud.

If Elysia found out she’d been daydreaming about a school romance between Justin and her-down to picking

names for their future kids-she’d never hear the end of it.

“What is it?” asked Elysia again.

Seeing that Elysia wasn’t letting it go, Ava quickly changed the subject. “Um... why did Justin clooking for

you?”

Of course, Elysia could tell Ava was trying to dodge the question but she didn’t feel like pressing, so she just

pointed at the notebook on her desk. “Notes. He brought notes.”

“Oh,” murmured Ava.

Grace hadn't cback to class since Ethan called her to Levi's office. Even by the tschool ended, she was

still nowhere to be seen.

Elysia didn’t care. Whatever happened to Grace had nothing to do with her.

When she got back to the Rosewood residence, she stepped inside and immediately saw Emma sobbing

uncontrollably in Bella's arms.

back?”

Bella frowned. “This has nothing to do with you.”

Emma lifted her head, her eyes red and puffy. “Why do you always have to be against me, Elysia?”

“Oh? That's funny. Just because you grew up in the Rosewood family, you think that makes you my sister? And

besides... what did | tell you before? Stop calling yourself my family.”

“What are you talking about?” Bella's face darkened with anger.

Emma watched quietly, the corners of her lips lifting slightly. Bella and Elysia turning against each other was

exactly what she wanted.

The more Bella hated Elysia, the better.

Yesterday, when she found out Vincent's last disciple was Ava, she felt awful.

She then skipped school entirely, so she had no idea what had gone on there.

But after thinking it over, she knew she couldn't just sit back and do nothing. So, she cto the Rosewood

residence to play the victim and win ssympathy.

Maybe Scott, remembering their past, would let her return to the Rosewood family.

At the stime, she hoped Bella would see Elysia’s true colors and start resenting her. The more she hated

her, the better.

“Nonsense?” Elysia raised an eyebrow. “Tell me, what part of what | said isn't true?”

“Elysia, you-" yelled Emma.

“Looks like you not only refuse to learn your lesson but also can’t take a hint,” Elysia said coldly. “If you had any

sense, you'd leave before Dad gets back.

“Think about it. With Dad’s temper, what do you think he'll do if he walks in and sees you here?”

Emma froze. Elysia was trying to force her out!

Well, she wasn’t going to leave. She had ctoday to win Scott's sympathy and take back her place in the

Rosewood family. If she just walked away now, she’d never forgive herself.

As for Scott's reaction, she didn’t have tto worry about that.

Right now, her only bargaining chip was the father-daughter bond she had with Scott.

If she won this gamble, she could return to the Rosewood family. But if she lost, she would lose everything.
