Chapter 145

With tears shining in her eyes, Odalyn hugged Elysia tightly and said, “Silly girl.”

Berenger watched the scene, a smile creeping onto his face. If he had a daughter, she would definitely be as

lovely as Elysia.

His eyes shifted to Odalyn, filled with warmth. If it hadn't been for the difficulties during Logan's birth, they

might have had a beautiful daughter by now.

This thought deepened his love for Odalyn; her well-being was everything to him. Giving birth is like walking

through the hell, and he completely understood why.

He remembered the moment when the doctor asked whether to save the mom or the child. That question still

haunted him.

Luckily, both Odalyn and Logan had made it through safely, but she lost her ability to have more kids afterward.

Still, her health was the priority, and that was all that truly mattered.

After leaving the Jackson residence, Logan took Elysia to the bar to pick up Elena before they headed to the

airport as they had planned the day before.

When they reached the airport, Logan guided both inside. Before saying goodbye, he forced a smile and said, “If

I have time, I'll visit you in Sivro.”

Elysia nodded. “Sounds good.”

Elena added, “You're always welcome; see you in Sivro.”

Logan said, “See you in Sivro.”

By around ten in the morning, the plane landed at Sivro Airport. As Elysia and Elena stepped out, the driver from

the Rosewood family was already waiting outside. The moment he spotted Elysia, he rushed over to grab her

suitcase.

“Elysia, is this young lady with you?” he asked.

“Indeed,” she replied.

Hearing this, the driver took Elena’s suitcase too, placed them carefully, and held the car door open for the two

girls, saying, “After you, miss.”

Elysia and Elena settled into the back seat. Elysia then asked, “Where are you living, Elena?”

“At Alcarion Villa,” Elena replied.

Nodding in response, Elysia turned to the driver and instructed, “First, to Alcarion Villa.”

“Yes, Ms. Rosewood.”

“Thank you, Elysia,” Elena said gratefully.

Elysia linked her arm with Elena’s and smiled softly. “We are friends; no need for thanks. Besides, you've helped

Elena laughed. “Not at all.”

“See?”

Chapter 145

The driver, glancing at them through the rearview mirror, thought about how much Elysia had changed since her

trip to Shecrity. She seemed much more lively and expressive now.

After dropping Elena off at Alcarion Villa, the driver turned to Elysia and asked, “Ms. Rosewood, should we head

back to the Rosewood family?”

“No, I'm going to Emma’s place,” she replied.

“Got it.” The driver was curious about what Elysia wanted with Emma, but he didn’t dare to ask.

About half an hour later, the car pulled up to Emma’s place. Elysia got out and rang the doorbell, only to see a

surprised Emma. “Elysia? What brings you here?”

Peering through the gate, Elysia flashed a playful grin. “Not going to letin?”

Emma hesitated, clearly displeased. “What do

you want?”

Elysia frowned at her tone. “You act like you own this place. This villa is part of the Rosewood family; can't |

visit?”

“Don’t try to bully me.”

Elysia laughed at Emma’s reply. “Bully you? You're living in my family’s house, acting like you're in charge. Who

gave you that right?”

“Elysia!”

“Are you already offended?”

Emma's frustration boiled over as she realized that Elysia’s words had left her speechless yet again.

‘What a country bumpkin, so rude. Emma wondered about Elysia’s upbringing and what kind of education she

really had, given her sharp tongue.

Elysia found Emma’s flustered reaction amusing, but she was there with a purpose. “I've call this way, and

yet you haven't invitedin? Is this how you were raised?”

Elysia added, “You're staying in a house that belongs to the Rosewood family, and yet you won't welcits

rightful owner -what kind of hospitality is that?”

When Emma didn’t answer, Elysia continued, “Or maybe you're worried I'll find out ssecret? Perhaps you're

hiding someone?”

Emma was taken aback. Accusing her of hiding someone was serious; if word got out, her standing would be

ruined.

Just as she was about to reply, Elysia cut her off, “If you don’t letin, what will | tell Dad when | get back?

Think carefully; my patience has limits.”

Her tone was teasing, and Emma grew anxious; Scott had always supported Elysia completely. If Elysia told Scott

about this, her hopes of staying with the Rosewood family would vanish.

Elysia was clearly threatening her. If she shut the door now, there would be consequences later. Finally, letting

Elysia in for just a visit didn’t seem so risky after all; it was better than being harmed by the rumors Elysia might

spread.

With this in mind, she stepped forward, unlocked the gate, and let Elysia in. Elysia smirked as she walked

confidently past Emma. Emma followed, and once they entered the living room, Elysia took in the decor.

To her surprise, the villa was indeed impressive. Though a bit isolated, it was quite nicely furnished; dated decor,

sure, but still in decent shape.

Glancing at Emma, Elysia pondered how someone could live in such a big villa and still want to return to the

Rosewood residence. Sometimes, people’s desires really knew no limits.

“Are you finished looking? If you're done, could you please leave?” Emma asked impatiently.

“Such eagerness to seego! Don’t forget whose property this actually is

Emma clenched her fists, her anger rising. Elysia’s constant reminders about ownership only served to highlight

Emma’s position as an adopted child-she was merely a temporary resident here. If the Rosewood family ever

wanted her gone, it would be a simple task.

If Elysia had heard Emma's thoughts, she might have rolled her eyes, thinking how twisted Emma's perspective

was. Elysia was just stating facts. And such truth hurt Emma’s pride.

Elysia stepped closer, placing her hand gently on Emma's head. “If only you could be nicer, you wouldn't be in

this mess.” Emma was taken aback by the gesture, staring at Elysia in confusion. ‘Why is Elysia being so friendly

all of a sudden? Before she could make sense of it, Elysia withdrew her hand and walked out without saying

another word.

Emma watched her leave, feeling unsettled, but she couldnt quite pinpoint why. At the door, Elysia loosened her

tightly clenched fists and glanced at the few strands of hair caught in her fingers. A slight smile appeared on her

face.

She then pulled out a clear resealable bag from her pocket, carefully placing the hair inside before returning it to

her pocket.
