Looking at Emma, who appeared so disheveled behind him, Robert was both angry and anxious. He quickly took

off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders. Then, he turned to face the men standing there and shouted,

“You're all just jerks!”

“Oh! You're getting all riled up, huh?” The man said as he crouched down to meet Robert's gaze. “Listen, | advise

you not to meddle in our business, or Ill deal with you too!“.

Hearing this. Emma tightened her grip on Robert’s hand. Sensing the tension from her, Robert glanced down at

Emma’s hand holding his tightly. Robert thought. Perhaps she’s worrying about me. Could it be that she cares for

He placed his hand over Emma’s and gently patted it, signaling her not to worry about him. Then he furned to

the men standing there and said, “Since you care so much about money, just say it! How much do you want?”

After hanging up the phone. Robert entered the correct password on the door lock. With a beep, the door clicked

open.

Listening to the two behind her, Elysia couldn't help but smile. She thought, ‘Does this conversation sound like

The boy brushed past Zane’s shoulder and dashed off. Zane watched the boy disappear with a colder look in his

Zane's arms. The minty scent unique to Zane filled her senses, causing her cheeks to flush slightly. It was their

Nicole and Jeremy looked at the scene, stunned for quite a while. They had noticed the boy rushing over and

were about to warn Elysia, but they didn’t predict that Zane would step in and hold Elysia protectively in his

arms.

They thought, “Is this Zane we knew? The cold-hearted, cunning Zane who doesn’t care about anyone! He

Zane glanced at Elysia in his arms, his heart beating faster. The situation was urgent earlier, and he hadn't
