Chapter 88
As the main characters left, the lively atmosphere faded, and the crowd slowly broke apart into small groups.
Only Emma, Natalie, and Mia stayed.
An awkward silence hung around them until Natalie finally spoke, her voice filled with reproach. “Mia, how long
are you going to stay mad at us? If this is about what happened in the hall, we've already said sorry. What else
do you want?
If it weren't for you, Emma wouldn't have had to go through that humiliation! Emma could have just stayed out
of it, but
e chose to step in because she was worried about you...”
As Natalie talked, Mia's defenses started to break down. The truth was, she had felt touched the moment Emma
stood up for her.
Now, hearing Natalie speak so honestly, Mia couldn't hold back anymore and rushed forward to hug Emma. “I'm
sorry, Emma. It's my fault...”
A sly glint appeared in Emma'’s eyes; she had achieved her goal. From the beginning, had it not been for the risk
of losing such an important ally as Mia, Emma never intended to confront Elysia directly.
But now everything was sorted out. The only downside was the severe humiliation she had faced from Elysia to
get there. Clenching her fists, Emma made a vow, ‘Elysia, | will make you pay for this!’
Since being kicked out of the Rosewood family, she had done a lot of thinking and understood her previous
innocence. She had thought her parents’ love could protect her from any consequences, but reality had hit her
hard.
With a wry smile inside, Emma reassured herself that when she got back to the Rosewood family, everything
would change. Emma wrapped her arms around Mia, her voice shaking with emotion. “Mia, I've made mistakes
too...”

Tears rolled down Mia's cheeks. Watching the scene unfold, Natalie interjected, “I'm glad you two have cleared
up your misunderstandings. Let's not fight again in the future.”
“Okay,” Mia said, wiping her tears and smiling.
A hint of joy returned to Emma’s face as well. The three linked arms and walked into the classroom, surprising
none of their classmates with their reunion.
After all, the three of them had always been inseparable, and despite their recent disagreements, their bond had
prevailed.
It's normal for friends to argue and make up quickly. But if one were to talk about surprising news, Emma’s
recent rumors were certainly the hot topic.
People wondered how she could bounce back so quickly after her reputation as the pure-hearted girl had taken a
hit. A boy playfully said to Emma, “Emma, can | interview you?”
Before she could say no, he continued, “Is it true that you've done those things?”
Emma froze at his words. Natalie quickly exclaimed, fiercely defending her, “Emma has never done any of those
things!” However, Natalie's harsh words only gave others the impression that Emma was guilty, and that Natalie
was trying to cover it
up.
Emma cursed Natalie for being foolish in her head but managed to force a gentle smile as she softly said, “My
innocence will be proven; twill reveal the truth.”

“Exactly! You all shouldn't spread rumors!” Mia added.
With a smile, Emma said, “I understand there are many misconceptions about me. Honestly, | was really upset
after this happened.
“I even doubted myself for a while, but then I realized that if | haven't done anything wrong, | won't let anyone
push that on me,”
The crowd exchanged looks, thinking about what Emma had said. ‘Is she implying that someone is behind the
online rumors, trying to bring her down? But who would go that far? If Emma falters, Elysia would be the one to
benefit the most, right?”
As they thought about this, they looked at each other but none of them were bold enough to voice their
thoughts. In the past, they might have, but with Emma’s character being put into question, staying silent
seemed wiser.
As the silence lingered, Emma's lips turned up into a sly smile. “I heard Vincent is coming to the school to select
apprentices I've submitted one of my artworks. If nothing goes wrong, | should qualify as Vincent's apprentice.”
This statement shocked everyone again. ‘Emma can paint? And she’s good enough to say that with such
confidence? Is she overestimating herself, or does she truly have the talent to catch Vincent's eye? Twill tell.
When Emma said this, she felt unsure. Her comment was a move to divert attention from the negativity directed
at her because of the online fuss. She genuinely hoped that the artwork painted by the other guy would be
chosen by Vincent
Natalie and Mia, who didn’t know about Emma’s submission, were surprised. “Emma, you really submitted one?”
Emma lit up. “Of course! | didn’t get a chance to tell you both.”
Mia said, “Emma, you're amazing! To casually create a painting and becVincent's apprentice?”
Cindy, who had been sitting nearby, couldn't help but shoot Mia a glare. “Please choose your words wisely; she
hasn't becVincent's apprentice yet!”
“Mind your own business! Emma is special; there's no way she won't make it!”
“Brainless.”
“Hey! Who are you calling brainless?” Mia snapped back, ready to confront Cindy.

Emma interrupted her, “Enough, Mia. It's normal for people to question me.”
“Emma...”
“It’s fine; | can handle the doubts.”
Cindy rolled her eyes at them, curious about who would end up being Vincent's apprentice.
Cindy thought, ‘It can’t possibly be Emma! With her troubled background and the wave of negative rumors
surrounding her, she'll be quickly dismissed if she steps into Vincent's world!”

In Class 6, Ava admired Justin’s notes, exclaiming in wonder. No wonder Justin was known as an intelligent
person; his notes were not only perfectly organized but also written so neatly that they looked like printed text-
quite a sight.
Eric casually picked up one notebook and flipped through a few pages, scoffing. “What's so amazing about it? It’s

Ava replied, indignant, “Can you write like that?”
“I wouldn't want to!”
“Just admit you can’t! We wouldn't tease you.”
