Chapter 500 Nadine looked at Brad's shocked face and added, "Now that you've realized my value, you wantto chwith you? I'm tired, Brad. I don't want to keep going in circles with you. Let's just get a divorce and be done with it." She'd been through a lot and learned that women needed to be independent. She learned that relying on a man for emotional or financial support was a mistake. That was the only way to avoid being looked down upon by men.

Her career was taking off, and there was absolutely no reason to throw it all away for a love that wasn't worth a dime. No matter how good Brad was, she didn't want him anymore. With that, she walked away, leaving Brad staring after her retreating figure, his hopes dashed.

Brad's eyes were bloodshot as he watched Nadine disappear into the distance. He clenched his fists and asked Adam indignantly, "Grandpa, I've asked her to chwith me. Why did she refuse?" Adam had been there the whole time, watching as Nadine turned down his grandson. Even though he didn't say a word, he was secretly very pleased.

Men like Brad, who didn't know how to appreciate what they had, deserved to be taught a lesson. Adam would've panicked if she had gone back to him that easily.

Nadine was far too good for Brad. Adam only felt at ease once she was out of sight and away from his grandson.

Adam chuckled at Brad's naive question. "Do you think she has to go back with you just because you asked her to? You only matter when she cares about you. When she doesn't, you're nothing-not even a blip on the radar.

"She doesn't love you. Right now, you're akin to trash on the side of the road. Got it?" In a good mood, Adam decided to give his grandson a little lesson. Noticing that Brad had recovered, he couldn't be bothered with him anymore. He pushed Brad's head off his lap, grabbed his walking stick, and went off to play with Sean.

Brad sat there unmoving, watching Nadine busy herself in the distance. He ground his teeth in frustration, yet couldn't cup with a good enough reason to approach her.

After washing the ingredients, Nadine started the fire. She'd done this so many times, and it didn't take her long to get the fire going.

She then set up the barbeque pit, shoveled charcoal into it, and put on the mesh cover. Soon enough, she started grilling the skewers.

As she grilled, she expertly coated the ingredients with sauce. It wasn't long before the air in the villa was thick with the tantalizing smell of grilled meat. Her movements were fluid and efficient, like a seasoned chef.

As soon as Sean caught a whiff of the delicious aroma, he rushed over, wrapping his arms around Nadine's leg and praising her, "You're 1. not amazing, Mommy! The meat smells and looks amazing-I'm drooting just from the smell!" He was practically gulping down his saliva as he stared greedily at the sizzling meat, looking every bit like a hungry kitten.

Nadine pinched her son's soft cheek

and smiled lovingly. "You're amazing too, baby, You always shower om Mommy with compliments, each one NO more unique than the last, You're the best! When the meat's ready, eat as much as you like, okay?"

Sean nodded enthusiastically as he clapped his hands. "I'll do whatever you say, Mommy! I'm going to eat tons! He even made a gesture with his hands to show how much he wanted to eat.

Being much older, Adam couldn't walk as fast as Sean, so he arrived a bit later. By the the got there, Nadine had already finished grilling the food and divided it into four portions on the table. "Nad, you're truly something else. Your cooking is simply out of this world!" With that, he sat down and began eating heartily.

He had assumed Brad wouldn't join them after Nadine turned him down. So when Adam saw him take a seat at the table, his brows knitted together.
