The kids were dismissed at 4:30 pm, but she was running a little behind due to a minor issue. She wondered if the kindergarten teacher would give her a hard tfor being late.

Feeling anxious, Nadine arrived at the kindergarten entrance, bracing herself for a potential scolding. But to her surprise, she noticed Brad's car parked as soon as she got there.

The window was rolled down, and both Sean and Brad were sitting in the backseat. Neither of them noticed her arrival and were seemingly deep in a private conversation.

Brad was the first to notice Nadine. He stroked Sean's head and gestured toward her with his chin. The little one looked over and called out sweetly, "Mommy! Why were you late today?" His mother was usually the one who picked him up. When she didn't show up that day and his father cinstead, he thought his mother wasn't coming anymore. As soon as she spotted Nadine, Sean leaned against the car window and waved his tiny hands frantically. "I'm right here, Mommy!" Nadine's brows knitted when she noticed her son in Brad's car. What was this jerk doing here? Was he trying to take Sean away from her? She immediately went on high alert, bristling like a porcupine as she stormed over to the car, glaring at Brad fiercely. "What are you doing here? Who gave you permission to pick Sean up?" The man looked like he'd just had a few drinks as he reeked of alcohol. His eyes instantly lit up when he noticed her fierce yet cute expression. His gaze was a little tender as he responded, "Yo@were running late after work, so thought I'd cand get him. I didn't want him to be alone at the kindergarten." Although Sean wasn't particularly fond of his father, he chimed in, "It's true, Mommy. You were late today almost ended up being the last one to leave." He was aware that his mother wasn't fond of his father, but he didn't want her to misunderstand Brad, so he decided to tell the truth.

After listening to her son, Nadine realized she'd misunderstood Brad. Her expression softened slightly, and she swallowed the biting remarks she had in mind. The defensive stance she had taken slowly began to fade.

She had no intention of dealing with Brad any longer, so she turned her attention to Sean. "Chere, baby. Let's go home." She couldn't bear to breathe the sair as Brad, so there was no way she'd ever get in the scar as him.

All she wanted was to take Sean and get out of there as soon as possible. But Brad put his hand on Sean's shoulder, stopping the boy from getting out of the car. His eyes shone brightly as he looked at Nadine. "Sean said he wanted to have stuna tartare. I know a great place that makes it very well, and I promised to take him there. Why don't you join us?"

He could tell that Nadine wanted nothing to do with him. She didn't m even want to waste her breath on him So, he softened his tone and gaze when he invited her to join them.

Nadine frowned at her son, who was sitting in the car. Her displeasure was evident as she said, Sean Hamilton, how many times have I told you that you can't fall for temptations so easily?"
