Chapter 668 As Dominick strolled out of the living room, Ford gave him a light, playful smack on the head. "What were you thinking, talking like that? You're pitting your sister against Michael. Do you really think she stands a chance?" Dominick winced, rubbing his head. "Ouch, I'm just following the boss's orders. Whatever our sister decides, we have to back her up. Even if she can't take on Michael alone, we've got her covered. We just need to keep a close watch on Michael and make sure she doesn't lose to him." Ford quickly got on board. "You're right. We can't go against the boss's orders." Dominick shot back with a cheeky grin. "You've got to learn to be adaptable, you know." Exhausted, Nathalie lay sprawled on her soft bed, but despite her overwhelming fatigue, sleep was nowhere to be found.

Every tshe closed her eyes, Lincoln's words replayed in her mind: "I gave all my savings to your aunt, trusting her to take care of you and your mom..." A burning anger simmered in Nathalie's eyes. "Taking my dad's money while mistreating his daughter. I'll make sure to settle this score one day." Nathalie was burdened with relentless thoughts, battling insomnia ever since Nathan left.

She knew if this continued, her body would eventually give out, but she couldn't find a way forward. Nathan wasn't coming back.

Even with her eyes shut, vivid scenes unfolded in her mind until morning light, when Nathalie dragged herself out of bed, feeling heavy and drained.

Lizzy, noticing the dark circles under Nathalie's eyes and her growing exhaustion, felt a pang of worry.

"Sis, you really should see a doctor about your insomnia." Nathalie managed a weary smile. "It's all in my head, no medicine can fix that." But Lizzy was persistent, pleading, "The boss said if you don't take care of yourself smoking, drinking, staying up all night-I have to step in. Please, just see a doctor. If anything happens to you, I won't be able to face him in the afterlife." Seeing Lizzy's worried face, Nathalie couldn't refuse. She sighed softly, "Alright, I'll go to the doctor. No need for the tics." Lizzy's face broke into a relieved smile.

After breakfast, Lizzy practically dragged Nathalie to the hospital.

Maybe it was the rapid pace of social change and technology taking over jobs, but anxiety levels seemed to be through the roof. Nathalie was stunned to see the psychology department packed with patients.

Older folks, young people, even teenagers... all wore cold, indifferent masks as they numbly took in the world. Sitting among them, Nathalie felt restless and out of place.

Suddenly, a familiar voice caught her attention. "Cameron, thanks for squeezing in tto cwithto the doctor." Nathalie's head snapped up, spotting Ashley and Cameron sitting side by side in the row ahead. Yet, a gap the width of a hand separated them.

Nathalie was puzzled.

If these two were involved, why sit so far apart? But if they weren't, whyn con there with was married Cameron there with Ashley?

As Nathalie pondered, she overheard Cameron comforting Ashley. "Ashley, it's not going to work out with him. You have to stop waiting and find someone else."

Ashley responded, her voice tinged with longing. "Cameron, you don't our get it. You don't know how desan connection runs. In this life, only marry him."
