But then, whether Elliot would agree was still in doubt. After all, he had never broached the topic of marriage

with her or shown any desire to beca married man.

Taking a deep breath, Amanda reminded herself that what she really had to worry about for now was how to deal

with and get rid of a nuisance, Corynn.

Despite getting arrested, Chase continued to act arrogant, refusing to admit that he was guilty, swearing that he

would never pay any compensation, and saying that he ought to be considered merciful for not killing Sofia.

What's more, he threatened to find and deal with her the moment he was freed.

When Corynn was informed of all of these, she was quite incensed. With all the solid evidence that she had

against Chase and due to his lack of remorse, she was determined to send him to jail.

Without any hiccups, Corynn smoothly navigated the legal procedures.

She had thought that Chase would continue to be as arrogant as ever, but when he heard that he was most likely

going to be jailed for over three years, he panicked. He pleaded that he was willing and ready to pay

compensation, but that option was no longer on the table for him.

Giving Corynn a bear hug, Sofia said softly, “Thank you so much, Corynn.”

Chapter 45 The Car Tire Burst

Were it not for Corynn, she would surely still be trapped in her misery. To sofia, she would forever remain grateful

to Corynn for rescuing her from a doomed end.

“I'm so happy that you're finally free. Remember to be more careful when choosing boyfriends in the future,

okay?” Corynn said as she gently rubbed her shoulder.

Sofia nodded and smiled softly

“So, what do you plan on doing next, Sofia?” Corynn asked. To her, there was no good in having Sofia cooped up

in a room. The young lady ought to get out and experience the world to create beautiful memories.

Looking confused, Sofia pursed her lips for a moment, then replied, “I have no idea yet.”

Smiling softly, Corynn brought out a stack of tickets from her pocket and said brightly, “Well, I think this is the

perfect tfor you to travel the world. You do love painting, right? You can take your Painting kit along. Just

don’t forget to sendyour paintings from tto time, okay? | look forward to seeing the beautiful scenery

that you are going to paint.”

With that, she took Sofia’s hand and placed the tickets in it.

Stunned, Sofia stared at Corynn and muttered, “This...”

“The people you will be traveling with are also people who love to paint just like you. | am very sure that you will

have a wholesexperience with them. You shouldn't worry about money, okay? | have handled everything.

Just don’t hesitate to have fun,” Corynn said and handed Sofia a credit card before concluding, “Your birthday is

the PIN.”

Trembling, Sofia’s eyes welled up with tears again and she hugged Corynn tightly.

“Don’t let what had happened hold you back. Have fun and enjoy life,” Corynn said soothingly.

Choking back her tears, Sofia replied, “Alright, | promise to send you everything that | paint!”

Early the next morning, Corynn drove Sofia to the airport.

After she saw Sofia off, she returned to her car and left for work.

On the way, Corynn heard a sudden loud bang that seemed to have cfrom under the car and instinctively

eturned the steering wheel sharply while simultaneously hitting the brakes. However, she lost control of the car

and it plunged down a hillside, coming to a stop when it hit a tree.

Thanks to the seatbelt, Corynn was held firmly in place and sustained no injuries. All she had was a racing heart

that felt like it might jump out of her body at any moment.

At that moment, judging from the sound that she had heard and how she had lost control of the car, she realized

that one of the car's tires had burst.

But then, the car had been to the maintenance shop a few days ago. It shouldn't be experiencing a tire burst so

quickly.

Just as she was thinking of this, she heard a sudden rustling noise coming from nearby.
