Chapter

Two and a half years later..
Nervous is such a weak adjective to describe what I'm truly feeling. My heart is hammering and I'm not sure if
this is out of nervousness, excitement or fear. Perhaps it's a mixture of all of them? I don't know.
Today is my wedding day and until this very moment, there's, thankfully, no . Everything is going
according to the plan. However, | haven't even walked down the aisle yet. Silas ar | wanted our wedding to be
private, and to achieve that, we hired a top-notch security company to keep away paps and reporters.
Silas is now a very famous football player. The success he has achieved in a short period of tis almost
unprecedented. I'm really proud of what he has achieved so far and | know that there's more to come.
| graduated last July. It still feels surreal that I'm no longer a college student and, to be honest, I'm really excited
to start working. Well, | have been working with my mum since Summer of my junior year, but being an intern is
not like being a full-temployee.
In my third year, Mum suggested | could design a few dresses and have them sold at an auction to donate the
money later for charity. At first, | was skeptical, because | thought nobody would want to buy dresses from a
beginner, but | was wrong. All of the dresses were immediately snatched and many people even askedif |
could design more dresses for them. To say | was stunned would be an understatement.
I'm supposed to start working with Mum as a full-tdesigner after I'm back from my honeymoon and I'm really
stoked. | can't wait to see people wearing my designs. | know that it's not going to be easy, and a lot of people
will callnepo-baby, but | don't care anymore. | learned to ignore all of that. It wasn't an easy process, but I'm
proud of the stage | have reached. | won't lie and say that what | hear or read doesn't botheranymore, but
the effect onisn't as strong as it used to be.
"You look absolutely gorgeous," Mum says from behind me. She is the one who has designed my wedding dress
and I'm simply in love with the gown | have on. It is a long-sleeve off-the-shoulder dress with a lot of studs and
pearls on its sweetheart top. The skirt of the dress is long, and it also has studs and pearls but only at the top
until they completely fade. It is not very puffy, givingfreedom to move. Mum has put so much love into this
dress and | love every single thing about it.
My hair is pulled back in a half updo and it no longer reaches my waist. One day | decided to cut it, and | feel like
| can now deal with it better. It now slightly passes the middle of back.

my
For my something blue, | have a simple hair piece that has blue gemstones in it. For my something borrowed,
Mum gaveone of her diamond earrings and for my something old, | have a ring that my grandma gave me
when | was eighteen.
"Chere. Letlook at you," Grandma says, and | make my way towards her. Sadly, Grandpa died two years
ago and the toll his death has taken on Grandma is still visible to this day.
"Do you
like my dress?" | ask her as | twirl in front of her.
"You look flawless, Rosie," she tells me, and | see the tears brimming in her eyes.
"Oh, please don't cry," | say, bending down to hug her.
"I can't believe that you're getting married," she whispers, and | just smile. | can't believe it either, but I'm ready
to continue the rest of my life with Silas.
A knock on the door makespull back from the hug. Kendall, my maid of honor opens the door. It's my dad.
Are you ready?" he asks as he walks inside. He stops the moment his eyes fall on me, and | just smile at him.
"Maybe you should run away." I laugh at his comment.
"You know I love him." I chuckle as | approach him. | wrap my arms around him and he does the s"But | will
always be
your little girl," I remind him.
"If I stay here much longer, | won't be able to walk you down the aisle," he jokes, making us laugh.
Quickly Mum and Grandma leave, then my maid of honor and my bridesmaids follow them.
The wedding is an outdoor one. Silas and | were involved in alle details. | loved how he shared withall of the
special moments related to preparations. | thought that he might not be involved in everything due to how busy
he has been with the football season, but he provedwrong. He was withwhile we picked the flowers and
during cake tasting. He was patient withwhen I couldn't make up my mind regarding a few things here and
there.
Each day, | feel thankful that | ended up with him, because Silas is simply the best partner any girl can ever wish
for.
The music starts playing and everybody starts taking their place. Once it's my turn, | take a deep breath as Dad
walksdown the aisle. All my nervousness vanishes once | see Silas waiting forat the end of the aisle
looking as handsas
ever.
My eyes never dart away from him and the smile never leaves my face. | catch him wiping a tear quickly before
we reach him and all | can think about is that | want to kiss it away.
"Take care of my little girl," Dad tells him as he gives my hand to Silas.
"She is in safe hands," Silas assures him. "Hello gorgeous," he murmurs as he kisses my
forehead.
The two of us stand in front of the officiant and he immediately starts the ceremony. I'm lost in my own world
and barely paying attention to what he's saying. | can't believe that in less than two minutes, Silas and | are
going to be husband and wife. | married the person | thought | would never end up with when | was eighteen. But
twenty-two-year-oldis absolutely in love with him. She cannot wait to spend all of her life and make a big
family with him.
"Do you have
your own Vows or are you going with the traditional ones?" the officiant asks us.
"I have written my own vows," | say and turn around to take the paper from Kendall.
the
"I have also written mine," Silas says with a smile, taking a paper out of his pocket. | know he wasn't going to say
traditional vows. Nothing about us is traditional. Our start wasn't traditional, but | won't change a thing about the
way we both fell for each other.
"My sweet Rosie, | still remember the first t| saw you when | was barely sixteen years old. | was stunned by
your beauty, and | kept telling myself, 'Wow! | have never seen such a gorgeous girl like that before. But sixteen-
year-oldwas stupid. He didn't know how to act around you or even talk to you. Simply, | thought you were
out of my league." Tears well in my eyes as | listen to every word he says. "As the years passed, my love for you
grew, but I didn't know how to tell you. Then fate decided to be on my side when you joined my university, and |
promised myself | would do anything until you were mine. Here we are today. Looks like | have fulfilled my
promise to myself."

The proud smile on his face makeslet out a short laugh. His eyes never leave mine as he reads the rest of
his vows. "Rosie, | vow to take care of you and to be your best friend for the rest of your life. | vow to cherish and
love you until my very last breath. | vow to lift you up when you're feeling down and to match your energy when
you're singing at the top of your lungs in the car." Everybody laughs at what he says, including me. "You will
forever be my girl and | will always love you."
| unfold the paper in my hands and look at Silas one more tbefore looking at the paper I'm holding. "I have
always been a bookworm and my speciality is romantic . For so long, | had always had this belief that
finding the kind of love | read about in books was impossible, but then you came, Silas, and you madelive a
beautiful love story that is so much better than any | have read. You have shownwhat true love feels
like. At my darkest times, you were there. When | gave up on us, you never let go. | never thought that one day, |
would be getting married to you, because thirteen-year-old-would rather jump into a freezing pool in winter
than have a dance with you." | manage to make the attendees laugh and Silas laughs too.
"But can you blher when pulling her hair was your favourite thing to do?" | smirk, looking at him. He
playfully rolls his eyes, and | continue. "I'm glad I'm not that girl anymore, because you are the best partner
anybody could ever ask for. | vow
to always be there for you whenever you need me. | vow to atter as many games as possible, even though they
makeanxious. | vow to love you until my last day on earth. Even then, | vow to find you in the afterlife and
fall for you all over again.
By the tI'm done, I'm already breathless. | stare into Silas's eyes and the sparkle | see in them makes my
heart flutter. | don't need him to say anything to make sure that he loves me. The way he looks
atis enough. An overwhelming sensation of affection takes overand my heart races.
The love I have for him is overwhelming and beautiful and | pray with everything inthat we stay like that
until we're grey and old.
After sharing "I do", the officiant announces us as husband and wife. As his lips meet mine, tstands still. His
kiss is just like his touch, full of love, passion, warmth and assurance. Butterflies dance around in my stomach as
if it's our first kiss. The world around us fades away and | squeeze his arm as the kiss deepens.
Finally, we pull away, not wanting to give the audience a longer show. Cheers erupt around us and a wide smile
forms on my lips.
Officially, I'm Rosalie Kensington Cromwell.
