“We'll wait for Lottie to reach out,” Evie replied. “We don’t know what situation she’s in right now. We need more
intel before. making any moves.”
“Alright.”
Night fell, Charlotte hid her phone and sat quietly in the dining room, eating her dinner.
Arthur hadn't chtonight, which helped ease her nerves.
She had to contact Evie soon!
She needed to get out of here!

After dinner, Charlotte went straight upstairs with the maid close behind. At her bedroom door, she turned and
said, “I'd like to watch a movie. Go to the media room, put on a sci-fi film, and prepare sfruit and yogurt.”
“Yes, Mrs. Harrison.”
The maid nodded and left to carry out her instructions.
Charlotte headed straight to the back of her walk-in closet and pulled out her phone to call Evie.
“Hey, Lottie!”
Evie answered immediately, her voice full of concern. “How are you? Is Arthur treating you badly?”
Charlotte's breath caught in her throat. She steadied herself before speaking, “We'll talk about that later. Go to
Harrison Villa and find Madam Harrison! She’s the only one who can help
“Okay,” Evie agreed without hesitation.
Charlotte kept an ear out for any sounds from outside as she quickly continued, “And what exactly happened at
the dinner party? Textthe details! | don’t remember anything about it.”
“Got it.”
“Knock knock!”

Charlotte whispered, “I have to go. I'll contact you later.”
She quickly hung up and hid her phone.
After hanging up the phone, Evie sat in the car and looked at Pete. “I need to go to Harrison Villa.”
“I'll go with you,” Pete said.

“Mom, | can help!” Mabel insisted.
After a moment's thought, Evie didn’t refuse.
They drove straight to Harrison Villa.
The grounds of Harrison Villa were brilliantly lit.
Evie got out of the car with Mabel and stated their purpose directly. They were here to visit Roxanne.
Jennifer was the first to hear about it. Her brows furrowed. She
knew Evie was Charlotte's friend.
She wondered if Charlotte had sent Evie to see Roxanne.

“Madam Harrison, hello. I'm Charlotte's friend, Evie Clarke,” Evie said as she stepped inside, maintaining a

Even though she faced just an elderly lady, something was commanding about Roxanne that couldn't be ignored.
Evie found herself unconsciously becoming more deferential.

Julius ran to her, looking up eagerly. “Have you seen my mom? Where is she?”
