and blood trickled out, but she didn’t have tto care.
The seawater had risen above her knees. She struggled to reach the door and tried everything to open it.
If she could open the door, she'd have a fifty percent chance of surviving. But if she couldn't, there was no
chance at all. She'd have to watch herself drown.
The door seemed to have been locked from the outside. Exhausted, she leaned against it, the salty, cold
seawater rising steadily. Soon, she started to have difficulty breathing.
In the dark container, she experienced an overwhelming sense of despair like never before.
“Am | really going to die here?” she murmured.

rising
Hope sparked in Charlotte's eyes,
Someone was coming to rescue her!
Filled with the hope of imminent rescue, she tried to calm herself. Finally, the shaking stopped. After a moment,
it crashed to the ground with a clang,
Water began flowing out.
She heard voices near the door, sof them speaking.
Quickly, Charlotte controlled her body, moving to the side of the container, desperately gripping the sharp edges
of the wall.
If the door opened, the water would rush out, and she would be swept along with it, risking injury. She couldn't
let herself be carried out by the current.
The door was pried open, the gap grew wider, and the water rushed through. Soon, the door was fully open, and

Charlotte clung tightly to the wall, feeling her body nearly swept away by the current. But fortunately, the water
in the container quickly drained away, and she suddenly relaxed, and her body went limp.
Two figures appeared at the door, the blinding sunlight making it impossible for her to open her eyes. She lifted
her hand to shield her eyes from the brightness.
“Sign this contract, and I'll let you go.”
The person at the door spoke, wearing a hat and a mask, making it impossible to see his face. He held out a
contract and looked at her coldly.
Charlotte's heart, which had just relaxed, tightened again upon hearing his words.

Charlotte immediately understood. After thinking it through, she realized that everything she had gone through
was because of that ten percent of shares in the Harrison Group,
This wasn’t a fortune beyond imagination.
It was a death warrant!
Without hesitation, she grabbed the pen. “Fine, I'll sign it.”
The man had been considering whether or not to continue threatening her, but he hadn't expected her to agree
so readily, He was momentarily taken aback.
Curious, he couldn't help but ask, “Do you know how much the annual dividend is for ten percent of the Harrison
Group's
shares?”
